Secure Emailing

spam email, isn't it one dam annoying subject. im sure u all have your own say on spam and what's useful emailing and what's not.

Have u ever got them emails selling u herbal solutions, trying to give u money, offering free goods or services...... Then this is for u.

Lets get to the subject of ISP's, email Providers and Spam. With a lot of these services u can only setup certain amounts of spam protection levels to prevent getting that all to common " u have been picked to win" type of email. More often or not these people who are behind these scams are quite smart and have a decent knowledge of how Email systems work this being the end users weak end in not knowing how to protect them self's properly from spam.
A lot of ISP company's could help with upgrading spam protection levels and even possible in creation a world data base for blacklisted spam that can be easy accessed by the general public.
Its not as if they cant do these things they just use excuse's such as "The costs of upgrading our systems is way to high", But what about the cost and time and frustration to the end user?.
As for your own spam protection, with out your own email server there is not a great deal you can do, there are a few great email providers who for a small cost can provide you with a 100% secure email services with top level spam protection.

Myself i use my own servers, so i use POSTFIX with apache2, mysql5, php5, smtp server, webmail, rkhunter, clamav, spamassian, promail filter.
I know it seems to b alot of programs just to secure a email server but i can say its worth it. i do not get any spam or junk emails and if by chance one gets past or i do not agree with one's content i can submit ti to my own mail filtering system which will go thru its content and grade it as it needs.

so overall if u use your email frequent a simple check list to consider

1. Is the service Secure.
2. How high is its filtering solutions.
3. How much space do you get.
4. How much does it cost.
5. How Often is the Service Down.

Happy mailing.
